Delivering Results: Recent Wins Across Practice Areas

Our client came in after a grueling dissolution of marriage case that had been ongoing since 2021 with no resolve. The client came to us at the end of 2023 looking for a resolution and end to this ongoing case. Upon receiving the case we were able to have the case resolved in under 7 months through mediation and no trial. Putting an end to what appeared to be a never-ending battle for our client. Though there were no kids involved there were lots of assets at stake and the other party was requesting long-term alimony. Thankfully, we were able to protect the interest of our client by only having to pay about 5 years’ worth of alimony payments versus 15 years of payments that they were potentially facing based on the length of the marriage and Florida law.

A client came in facing a possession of more than 20 grams of cannabis charge. Our client was found in possession of the cannabis during a routine traffic stop. As a result, he was facing 5 years in prison. Not only was our criminal defense team able to have him avoid jail time but we were able to have those charges against our client completely dropped. Our client was facing a third-degree felony but was able to walk away freely with all charges brought against him dropped.

We had a teenage client that was being charged with 3 different felonies. Robbery with a firearm, dealing in stolen property, and receiving money from a pawnbroker by false verification of ownership identification. Our client had no prior convictions; however, he was still being faced with a life sentence. Our amazing criminal defense attorney was able to have his life sentence reduced to 6 years with adjudication withheld so that he would not have to contend with being labeled as a felon for the remainder of his life. We fought and won our client a second opportunity at rehabilitating his life.

Our client got his LLC in 2021 for Import Export business between the US and the Caribbean. However, he did not begin official operations until earlier this year (2024). He applied for his E2 visa, not long after beginning his operations. Between the process of providing us with the necessary documentation, filing and approval it was a little under 2 months total. Our immigration attorneys were able to efficiently file and secure his visa rather quickly. His E2 visa is renewable if he continues to meet the necessary visa requirements and conditions.

Our client came to us with over $75,000 in back child support from a child support order in Puerto Rico. With an owed figure that large our client could have been arrested. However, we were able to negotiate—with the department of revenue—a purge amount of $500 that would prevent him from going to jail. Through the negotiation we were able to get him out of contempt, providing him an opportunity to go and address the necessary modifications needed, sparing him from serving jailtime and facing other possible negative consequences as a result.
